Bench - Bamboo Chair
Black high gloss mirrors.  I love these!  I think they would be awesome in a master bath with sconces and a fab wallcovering!

Chinoiserie hand painted end tables!
Twin headboards with frames in high gloss black.
We have numerous fabric options and pillows available with upholstered pieces.
Chest -  If there has ever been a photo which does not do justice, this is it!

"On The Right Track"

Summer Camp stories are always fun to hear!  Lots of  friends picked up their kids from Camp Willow Run this past weekend.   CWR brings back lots of memories of my brother and his hilarious camp adventures!    The camp is unique and loved by all the kids spending summer nights in actual boxcars converted into air conditioned dormitories!
The 1911 steam engine and caboose complete the railroad theme!
The CWR goal is to win youth to Christ!  "Helping mature those who are already Christians and demonstrate that you can be a Christian and have fun"!!  I have always enjoyed boating by camp, seeing the kids enjoy the great outdoors!!
The sunsets are TRULY heavenly!

Camp Willow Run, A Blessing since 1968!

I really wish I could share some of my brothers funny stories but he would kill me!  Maybe a real book deal will one day break my silence! As for now my lips are sealed!

"Have Fun with HISTORY"! ~ BHS

Since I steered you to Historic Beaufort to the Maritime Museum yesterday it is a great time to stick around!  The 51st Annual Old Homes and Gardens Tour is taking place today and tomorrow.  I know you will enjoy it as I have several friends on this years tour and their homes are a treat to see!
In addition to the private homes and gardens, historic churches, as well as the houses and buildings at the Beaufort Historic Site are open during the self guided tour!  Don't miss the narrated tour of the Beaufort Historic District aboard an English double-decker bus!
I am most disappointed I will miss the Antiques Show and Sale today through Sunday held in conjunction with the Tour! The Civic Center will be filled with items from silver to furniture! I could spend all three days there admiring each piece.  I dig searching for forgotten treasures!
It is all about the hunt!
I love the above print by Mary Faith Warshaw!
She captured the true Beaufort water view! Her paintings, prints and cards are beautiful and available at Handscapes Gallery in Beaufort! I cannot wait to purchase her book!

ARGH!

I was excited to hear a friend enjoyed taking her children to experience the exhibit of the artifacts from Queen Anne’s Revenge at The North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort!

For those of you who might not know the details, Queen Anne's Revenge was the flagship of the notorious Pirate, Blackbeard.  Blackbeard ran Queen Anne's Revenge aground in Beaufort Inlet during 1718.
If your interest is not already peaked, The North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort video below is sure to do the trick!
The curiosity of how Pirates lived among Queen Anne's Revenge was evident on Saturday with reports of over 3,500 visitors enjoying the exhibit during the Grand Opening!
Support of the North Carolina Maritime Museum through membership and one time donations are always appreciated as admission is always free!

It is funny to think as a pirate Blackbeard probably said
"Ye'll ne'er get me buried booty"!

I had such a great time celebrating with my family since Thursday!   I hope everyone enjoys a terrific "Father's Day"! I am so thankful for time spent with my Daddy!
I love this photo!  The last time my Daddy saw that dress and veil my Mom was wearing it in 1972!

Sunday Funday!

Beach music has the power to warm the soul all year long!  Sunday on the Beach with Luke Vail and Steve Hardy's Beach Party keep beach fever strong all year long!  Now summertime is here and the true Sunday Funday begins while listening to 107.9 WNCT on the Shores of the Southern Outer Banks!
After a long day on Island time there is nothing better than date night on the porch with snow crab or king crab and shrimp and arugula pita pizza's!  Crab legs are so easy and quick!  Brush lightly with mostly lemon and a little butter then bake on 375 for 15 minutes!
Pita Pizza's are so yummy and healthy! Spread homemade pesto on whole wheat pita halves, top with grilled shrimp, sprinkle with shredded Gruyere cheese, broil until crisp and cover with arugula!  This will impress the taste buds of any guest!  I also like to use artichoke spread in place of the pesto to change it up a bit!

I am a Survivor!

Yesterday was a very special day for many including myself!  It was National Cancer Survivor Day!  The National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation defines a "survivor" as anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life.  "A Celebration of Life"!

I found faith and a positive attitude to be the best medicine to start!  I know a cure will be found!  Thank you UNC Health Care and Dr. John Boggess! We are so blessed in North Carolina to have access to wonderful Hospitals!

Doughnut Day!

Since today is National Doughnut Day ,  I thought it appropriate to dedicate today's post to North Carolina's best doughnut since 1937, Krispy Kreme!  The paintings are from The Little Art Gallery and Craft established in 1968 in Raleigh now located in Cameron Village.

painting by Eric McRay
Paintings by Brenda Behr

Print by Rick Roland

"National Doughnut Day started in 1938 as a fund raiser for the Salvation Army. Their goal was to help the needy during the Great Depression, and to honor the Salvation Army "Lassies" of World War I, who served doughnuts to soldiers."
