The Good Samaritan

It was amazing to drive through many Eastern North Carolina counties today and see the product of the unusual weather Saturday. The devastation is shocking to communities where tornado's are uncommon.  I remember the last tornado's of major destruction in the 80's. It is always wonderful to hear many stories of Good Samartans during the aftermath.  My thoughts and prayers are with all who have suffered a loss in the path of the storm.

I am thankful for Samaritan's Purse from the Western part of North Carolina. They have trained emergency workers based in four NC counties, along with three Disaster Relief Units. Franklin Graham is the President and CEO of Samaritan's Purse and the oldest son of Billy and Ruth Graham.
Their Mission Statement:
Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Volunteers can sign up to help by going to thier volunteer network website.  Click here to help provide resources to help families whose homes have been damaged or destroyed.
