Money Island Beach!

We had a great time having dinner with my hometown neighbor at the Island Grille last night!  She is one of the most accomplished women I know! We had a great dinner talking about the book she has written and lots of Atlantic Beach memories with some of our favorite Enfield folks!
We love going to the Island Grille! When we drive down Money Island Drive we can't help but miss the landmark at the end of the street. Sportsman's Pier was torn town in 2007.  The pier was originally built in the 1950's.

The Pier House was a favorite breakfast spot, fishing spot and my husband grew up surfing at Sportsman Pier.  It was a favorite hangout for all ages!

We love our painting in memory of the pier and the wonderful artist, Martha Hall Jenkins. You can purchase this painting as a print at  Gallery Arts of New Bern.
The memorabilia was sold and a friend has the famous green awning today.

There is so much History preceding the Sportsman's Pier.  Visit the Atlantic Beach website to learn more about Money Island Beach and the History of Atlantic Beach North Carolina!
Time marches on, each generation remembers something new!
It is time for me to venture to the other side of this beautiful state!
