Over the weekend I had the pleasure seeing Napolean Hill, an artist from my hometown. Napolean is not only talented but also one of the nicest people you will ever meet! I was so excited to hear the Halifax County Arts Council is hosting a reception as a tribute to the local artist. This is a rare opportunity to see his paintings gathered in one location. This event is free to the public and is also sponsored by MJ Price Construction and National Endowment for the Arts.

Below is a photo of an all time favorite. It was owned by family friends and hung in their beach house until it burned three years ago. In person "The Catcher" was a work of art every guest will always remember.

Napolean is the artist behind the murals in towns around the Roanoke Valley.

One of the most cerebral, gifted artist of the last 5 generations with an almost magical ability to bring the past into the present. His work is absolutely flawless in his depictions of the Jim Crow South.
