Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness

Today one of the best reenactments of what the fight for our freedom during the American Revolution was like is the movie, The Patriot.  I cannot watch this movie or even this clip without being truly humbled and brought to tears.  I am eternally grateful to the men who fought the original "first for freedom" in order for future generations to live as citizens of these United States.  In God we Trust.  This is a video containing clips from the the American Revolutionary war film, The Patriot, starring Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger. The Music is Hallelujah, the version by Jeff Buckley.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. ~

"John Locke, in his 1689 "A Letter Concerning Toleration," wrote that "Civil interest I call life, liberty, health, and indolency of body; and the possession of outward things..." Locke wrote in his 1693 Essay Concerning Human Understanding that "the highest perfection of intellectual nature lies in a careful and constant pursuit of true and solid happiness."  Locke never associated natural right with happiness."

Historic Halifax is a great place to visit! Listed by Road Trips for Families as one of the Best 4th of July Hometown Celebrations and Trips in the USA!  I highly recommend the play First for Freedom since 1976 by Maxville Burt Williams.  As a child, I had the great pleasure participating in the production as Josie Hamilton.  It was a wonderful experience!  Although the role as Josie and the lead role as the Little Red Hen in kindergarten, did not create a child star, I developed a great appreciation for our history!
