West!

It is no secret, Western North Carolina is the place to be when the leaves change!  There are so many great stops on the way to the mountains!  I had the most fun in Lexington with our favorite family friends!  The first stop was Childress Vineyards!  It was such a beautiful day at the Vineyard Richard built first class just like his race cars!

The Bistro Menu with wine suggestions for each item is perfect for every palette!  I like this room myself!  I had the pleasure being introduced to the winemaker for Childress Vineyards, Mark Friszolowski! I am glad he brought his knowledge to NC! Truly Fascinating!

Edenton!

Even a cloudy day cannot put a damper on the Historic Edenton!  It was a perfect time to spend shopping with downtown merchants, especially those which make you feel like time has stood still!  We enjoyed our stop in the Downtown Cafe and Soda Shoppe and the perfect pumpkin spice latte from Edenton Coffee House!   So Charming!

My sweet sister in law introduced us to Downtown Diva!  It is a fun shop! 

The Edenton Bay Trading Company is unique and full of surprises! We cannot wait to return!

I hope you will visit soon!  I love that Forbes recognized Edenton as one of America's prettiest towns!  Please look up Main Street Edenton for a full list of all the fun!  Such a beautiful fall afternoon drive through the countryside as well as downtown by the water!

13 - 0!!

For all NCSU fans today was the best football day of the year!  NC State beat Carolina for the 5th straight year!  The last time the Wolfpack defence held the Tarheels from scoring was in 1960!  As always the rivalry was intense and the party was great fun!  Go Pack!

As a State fan the UNC pasta did not look appetizing but it was actually very good!  The appetizers and the dinner menu were a big hit with the Wolves and the Rams! Southern style wings, ribs, slaw, fresh collards, butter beans and creamed corn!

Duck Deli!

OK friends, followers is just a little weird!  My husband cannot believe I did not tell you about his absolute favorite spot for breakfast and lunch in Duck NC, so I am doing a little backtracking!  He is correct, it would be unfortunate not to share with you what is special about the Duck Deli! 

For starters the chicken barbecue sandwich is so mouth watering, you will be tempted to take a cooler of it home with you!  The sweet sauce is something special!  They smoke whole chickens then chop them for their chicken salad and BBQ!  If you cannot make it to Duck NC, and you are stuck North of the Mason Dixon line, you can still find the Duck Deli!

Happy Halloween!

North Carolinians love a good party, especially with a little "Brew"!  I love the very creative Southern Living mini jacks and pumpkin "Brew" bucket perfect for Halloween or a fall party!  The fun is always in the details!

From decorations to a weekend costume party, everyone is dressing the role and playing the part for festive fun with friends!  Beware of who might answer the door as you Trick or Treat!  

The Bellamy Manor was in high gear to entertain their guest and friends Saturday night!  This was a fantastic party with a fabulous band!  If you have not scheduled your visit to the Manor, I hope you will soon!  You will love "The Manor"and your new friends! They always have a good party going!

 No one left in the car out front!

OBX!

It was clear summer is over and winter is on it's way at the Nags Head Pier yesterday.  Adirondack chairs once filled are now empty as the cold wind blows off the water.  We enjoyed breakfast at the legendary pier house but did not venture out on the pier this trip.  I love the sign hanging over their door "The happiest people in the world pass thru these doors"!  Even an ugly day at a North Carolina beach is better than a pretty day anywhere else!

See you in Spring!

Our last day in Duck was casual and a bit chilly!  The Duck Waterfront Shops have something for everyone!   The perfect pumpkin spice latte and lots of great reading material made for a warm break from shopping at the historical Duck Cottage!

Life's a Beach Lilly Store stays open all year long!

We enjoyed lunch at Cravings!  They have a menu to please all taste buds, even a Yankee pot for our northern friends!  Our favorite was the OBX Steamer Pot! They also have a great breakfast menu!

We cannot wait to return!
